All the venues you see on my website have either been visited personally by myself or have been researched thoroughly, this has been done to ensure that your photographs are the very best that you can expect. I have only reviewed venues on my website that I would recommend. The Compleat Angler is a spectacular wedding venue and from my experience one that makes a wedding photographers life easy. The Macdonald Compleat Angler is a beautiful wedding venue, which is situated on the River Thames in the picturesque village of Marlow. With a tranquil river-side setting, this venue offers extensive photo opportunities for your wedding day.
There are an array of wedding packages to suit any requirements, starting from £5,925 based on 60 guests, however this venue can accommodate up to 180. It has multiple grand function rooms, which can be decorated to meet the style of your wedding and idyllic grounds, which overlook the Marlow Weir. If you choose this venue you can take advantage of the location and enjoy a ride on the Edwardian Boat whilst sipping on champagne, which is reserved for newlyweds on their special day. Here, I can also accompany you and shoot intimate, secluded pictures which show off your exquisite setting. Don’t worry, your guests won’t be forgotten, as during the summer months they can take full advantage of the presecco bar on the lawn!
This venue is perfect for the foodies amongst us, in 2014, the Compleat Angler opened its newest restaurant, Sindhu by Atul Kochhar, from Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. The restaurant boasts mouth-watering Indian cuisine, which can be enjoyed with your family the day before or after your wedding. If Indian is not what your fancy though, there is also the Riverside Restaurant, which offers afternoon tea and breath-taking views.
If you have guest coming from afar, this venue offers elegant, four-star accommodation. The Classic rooms present Molton brown toiletries and en suit bathrooms with underfloor heating, or you can upgrade to the Feature rooms and Four poster rooms, which are the perfect place to relax with private balconies or even get ready for your big day with double vanity sinks. Thanks to the size of these rooms, your photographer can join you on the morning of your wedding, to capture natural, non-intrusive pictures of you and your bridal party getting ready.
The Compleat Angler is only situated 20 minutes away from Heathrow and 5 minutes from Maidenhead, which means - thanks to close train networks - you can be in London within an hour. There is also easy access to the M40, M4 and M25, which makes travelling stress-free for your guests. If they are staying for the weekend, there are many activities they can enjoy such as fishing and walking, or if your guest fancy something more thrill-seeking, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studios are also in the area.
This hotel has been used as a backdrop for weddings for many years and therefore the service given on your special day is nothing short of outstanding. The wedding organisers will be with you every step of the way when planning your day. They have many suppliers which are recommended, however they are also happy for you bring your own suppliers, who they can liaise with to ensure your day runs smoothly.
