My Experience
All the venues you see on my website have either been visited personally by myself or have been researched thoroughly, this has been done to ensure that your photographs are the very best that you can expect. I have only reviewed venues on my website that I would recommend. Oakley Court is a spectacular wedding venue and from my experience one that makes a wedding photographers life easy. First impressions
Oakley Court weddings are one of a kind. Driving down the expansive driveway you can set your eyes on the truly magnificent Victorian Gothic mansion, set amidst 33 acres of stunning landscaped gardens with manicured lawns that wander gently down to the banks of the River Thames. It’s picture perfect!
This venue is situated 3 miles away from the Windsor Town centre and falls directly on the River Thames. Every time I visit this venue I am blown away with the views. The word “Picturesque” does not do this place justice. It really does make a photographer’s life easy. The lawns are immaculate. Where ever you go, you capture another shot of a lifetime.
The Wedding
This venue is ideal for weddings up to 150 guests. The venue is priced at £139 per head and will therefore cost up to £21,000 if you are to max out your guest list. For this price, you will be provided one main reception hall away from the main building.
Temporary walls will be used in order to separate the main ceremony for the wedding breakfast. All of which will be cleared away when in order to set up for the first dance and bar area. Whilst the room is being arranged your guests can enjoy a refreshing glass of bubbly on the lawns or even take a boat ride whilst you have your photos taken.
There is the added option of hiring an additional room in the main building, for the ceremony, that overlooks the Thames, however this is an additional £6,000.
To make the most of the lawns you may also be interested in ordering a grand marquee which is another optional extra of this site. This enables one to enjoy the superb surrounding at the front of the main building to enjoy drinks receptions in the summer and winter.
No wedding is perfect without a great live band and dance floor. This venue offers facilities for both DJ and band. The party also doesn’t have to stop at 12pm as the venue can be stay open to 1pm.
Additional Considerations
I knew my guests would be travelling far and wide when I had my wedding. As this is a stunning hotel as well as a wedding venue all the guests could book at the site with priority and it would avoid any need for me to arrange transport to other locations at the end of a brilliant and emotionally charged day.
If you do choose to stay the night there are plenty of facilities the next day to accommodate you. You may be interested in the swimming pool, fitness centre and 18-hole golf course available to stretch your legs and enjoy the views.
One feature I particularly love on this venue is the availability of boat pick ups. At the bottom of the expansive lawns there is a docking bay, this is perfect for splashing out and hiring a boat on your special day. When travelling down the Thames with a cold glass of prosecco you can be made to feel like royalty.
