Why I wanted to be a wedding photographer?

Photography has always been a passion of mine. If I am with my family or friends I am often the first one to get my phone out to capture the moment. I will naturally want to organise friends and family in order to photograph the best picture, and then, too often my friends’ annoyance, spend for the next 10 minutes editing it in order make it perfect. My friends would often tell me to try my hand at making this a career. So, after researching other photographers, and talking to the wedding photographer who worked on our wedding, I decided I should put it into practice.

I can really say, hand on heart, that I love what I do. Being able to capture the happiest day in someone’s life whilst doing something I really love is truly a privilege.

More about me…

As my bio says I am currently living in Windsor with my wife Heather who I recently married and who is hugely supportive in all my decisions I make – one being to start photography.

Before photography I worked in the professional service firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and had the ACA qualification as a chartered accountant. From there I moved into a Senior Finance Analysis role in a FTSE 250 company. I feel like the pressure situations and deadlines given in this kind of environment prepared me for the pressure one may feel to perform as a photographer at weddings. Although there was a lot to be admired from as career in finance I was not able to express myself creatively and didn’t have the sort of passion that I find in photography.

I started wedding photography about a year ago and instantly knew that it was something that I wanted to do from here on in. In terms of time scale, I am aware that I could still be considered new at this. I believe is reflected in the low price that you see on my website. For this price through you are getting someone who is hugely inspired and finds every day he is photographing an exciting experience.

In the time since I started I have photographed a whole host of weddings, met some amazing people and have learned huge amount. I am someone who is constantly looking to improve and excel in everything I put my mind too - photography is no different.

My Photography…

My style of photography is very natural with a documentary feel. I don't want any forced shots whilst I am on site. I understand that no great album is complete without group photos which I of course take. However I am looking for those golden moments that capture the excitement of the day and the times you will remember for years to come.

I want to capture every guest at their best and enjoying every moment. The moments between the grandfather and the grand son, the bridesmaids and the bride, the first dance and more as the guests would see it.

What’s in the future…

2018 is looking to be a big year for me. I am looking to secure a large number of bookings and am well on track in achieving this. Every day is a new learning experience and I am enjoying every minute of it.
